Brand and content strategy for a well-respected independent coffee business operating in a competitive market

The business

Pink Lane Coffee is a 12 year old business consisting of an independent cafe in Newcastle and a roastery selling speciality coffee across the UK. It is well-known in the world of coffee-lovers, and has ambitions to grow which are complicated by a similarly named local bakery, and an increasingly competitive coffee market. Plans to refresh the visual brand had stalled due to confusion around positioning, and the owners were concerned about a lack of consistency in social channels.

Our role

We worked with the team at Pink Lane Coffee to formalise the brand, audience and tone of voice guidance for staff and suppliers, and then to implement this on the Pink Lane Coffee shopify site.

The results

The business was able to progress the visual branding project, leading to a refresh of the website design and coffee packaging. Meanwhile, content changes, including implementing new page structures housed in the existing templates, led to improved rankings, an increase in traffic and an uplift in sales.
