The return of work in the wild

A Hubspot Hack that could save you money, the marketing campaign of the week and some work hitting the physical shelf.

It’s been a while since we blew our own trumpet, so this week I’m shining a light on some of our work, alongside revealing a Hubspot Hack that could save you money and sharing what must be the marketing campaign of the week.

Mat & Alan win the internet

Marks & Spencer launched their influencer campaign featuring Mark Wright and Spencer Matthews, and it wasn’t long before the team at Matalan were inspired to present their less spendy version. Last I heard the Monzo team were still searching for Monty and Zoe.

Hubspot hacks

If you use Hubspot, you may have been caught out by the number of Marketing Contacts in your database. Surpass your limit, and you can find yourself automatically hit with additional charges, but there is a way to make the most of your allocation. Head to your Account & Billing settings, select Usage Limits and then select Manage Marketing Contacts. From here, you can run through a process to set bounced and unengaged contacts to Non-Marketing, keeping you inside your plan’s limit for longer.

Work in the wild is back

I’ve been wading through Select Committee reports to create a concise guide to the challenges and opportunities for Talent in the Public Sector. New government ministers or public service workers look this way. You’ll also find free guides to Employee Experience, the use of AI and more over at Talent Insight Group.

Earlier this week, we conducted a six-week check-in with the Downland team, which has seen some strong performance improvements since enacting our search recommendations. If you’re in need of a tailored and practical checklist for your site, take a look at ourDigital Healthcheck.

AND work in print

The prominence of all things digital means it’s rare for me to work on a project that is brought to life in the physical world, but that’s exactly what has happened with my latest piece for Pink Lane Coffee. Seeing your words in print just hits differently, so thank you to Anth and the team for this opportunity and for providing emergency coffee beans in my time of need. Heroes.

If you need support with your written communications, whether digital or in print, we can help.

How to write a great creative brief

If you’ve ever handed something over to a marketing team and been disappointed with what came back, chances are the issue wasn’t talent but a misunderstanding of the brief.
