Getting comfortable with cringe

Embarrassment as the cost of entry, a dose of creativity in recruitment and a 404 page that got us talking.

Fresh from a visit to Bristol’s inland surf park The Wave, I’m here to remind you that you can be good at new things even if you didn’t start them as early as you would have liked. You can be a sporty adult even if you were last to be picked for PE. You can start that podcast from scratch and build something new. In a world of free digital tools, embarrassment is the main cost of entry. You have to get comfortable with being a kook or a newbie and lean into the process of being a bit cringe before you get good. It’s all part of the journey.

It’s practically cliche to mention innocent drinks when giving marketing inspiration, but I’m going to do it anyway. Earlier today I stumbled across their 404 page when being drawn to a link for their Compliment Generator (no judgement, please) and found myself engrossed in a history of their mistakes. I’m almost glad the link is broken.
