Language is a funny old thing. New words drop in, while others drop out of favour. We spice up our vocabulary by sprinkling in an unexpected turn of phrase and overuse words to such an extent that they lose all meaning.
With this in mind, I believe it is time to announce we have reached peak community usage. To quote what may be one of the greatest movies of all time, “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”
Yes I have reached the point of fiery rage when faced with luxury memberships describing their product or service as an amazing community. Listen, when you’re paying £200 a month, you want a nice atmosphere and friendly people, but let’s not kid ourselves that you’re besties with your customers.

In the latest episode of outdoor wars, Berghaus stepped into its streetwear heritage with a campaign featuring Liam Gallagher in a throwback Berghaus jacket. Unfortunately, the colours reminded people of a well-known grocer. Kudos to Lidl for reacting so quickly to the tags. Maybe not quite the impact the team were hoping for, but it sure got people talking…
The Wednesday Waffle
In the midst of a loneliness epidemic and a search for deeper connections, I stumbled across the Wednesday Waffle. I’ll let the creator give you the low down, but it’s a great reminder that there’s nothing like hearing someone’s voice to connect. My sister lives out in Brisbane, so the time difference can make it hard to speak directly, but our voice notes/personal podcasts keep us almost as close as we would be in the same country.

Luxury expert Paul Russell has appeared in my feed a number of times not, I’m not sure I agree with his coffee recommendations but his thoughts on consumer behaviour are well worth your time.
